Sr. Electronic Design Engineer Job Category : Engineering Job Location : Syracuse, New York Recruitment Enhancement Services is currently recruiting Sr. Electronic Design Engineer for one of the world's largest solution provider of air conditioning, heating and refrigeration equipment for commercial, residential and transportation applications. We have opportunities in Huntington, IN. and Syracuse, NY. Job Description   Design and develop electronic circuit board assembly controls for embedded HVAC and refrigeration products from concept through production. • Design responsibilities include development and analysis of: analog, digital and power circuits including 12-24 bits ADCs, 8/16/32bit µPs and µCs, displays, sensors, electromechanical power switches, and AC/DC, linear and switching power supplies • Create documentation including technical requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, qualification test plans and reports and product change notices. • Generate schematics and support PCB layout designers • Support current production designs including quality improvements, cost reduction, component obsolescence and failure analysis. • Evaluate and approve electronic components to meet requirements for availability, performance and cost • Evaluate failures to determine root cause and corrective actions • Participate/Lead electronic hardware design reviews • Interface with team members, customers, and suppliers to move designs from concept to production • Interface and support validation, verification and manufacturing engineers and technicians with product and manufacturing testing. • Apply knowledge of DOE, FMEA, tolerance analysis, simulation and statistical methods to improve robustness and quality of electronic designs Job Requirements   • BA/BS degree w/4-7+ years experience • MA/MS degree w/2-5+ years experience • PhD degree w/0-2+ years experience • Three or more years experience in the design of high volume (>10K/yr) analog and digital embedded instrumentation/controls for resale within an industrial market is required. • Experience in developing and testing embedded electronic circuit board assemblies and components for new products from concept through to production. • Experience creating schematics, supporting PCB layout, circuit simulation and a general knowledge of embedded software coding for microcontrollers. • Knowledge of FMEA and electrical stress analysis calculations / process, qualification of electronic controls for EMI and EMC and PCB layout techniques for EMI and EMC. • Strong background experiences in root cause / troubleshooting electronic assemblies. • Familiarity with Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning systems highly desirable Area of Expertise: Design and development of embedded electronic controls used in HVAC and refrigeration applications Our client is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer who offers a comprehensive benefits package.
